At the Pacific Springs Showcase in April, we stepped up to a charity challenge to players and their parents: The team that raised the most hockey gear for KidSport during the tournament would win ice time with pro-hockey players.

The tournament had many teams participating and over 1,000 kids and their families participated in a great cause by combining charity with a sport they love. Kids were empowered to make a difference in their community by raising $18,000 — money that helps kids just like them play hockey.

We are very proud to say not only did our Jr Steelers teams all engage in the charity challenge, but one team was able to set the bar for years to come. The 2005 Jr Steelers raised more funds and equipment than any other team. As a result they got to skate with some pretty special hockey players and people.

We are very PROUD that our Steelers hockey players are leaders in the community and making a difference in other kids lives.
