Player Requirements for Jr Steelers Teams
Jr Steelers Prep Teams
All players on Jr Steelers Prep Teams at the Atom level and higher will be playing in Flight 1 or on their home association top team out. Players under the age group of Atom will be in the top few players in their home association. Players should have a strong passion for hockey and they should have Jr Steelers ice times come before any other sporting commitment. Though playing other sports is encouraged, on tournament weekends each player will be asked to focus entirely on the Jr Steelers team, forgoing other sports events that weekend. Players selected to the Prep teams will wear yellow helmets. Jr Steelers Prep teams may enter travel tournaments and the expectation is that all team members will attend all tournaments. All families on travelling teams will share the expenses of the coach’s hotel and travel expenses.
Jr Steelers Varsity Teams
All players on Jr Steelers Varsity Teams at the Atom level and higher will be playing in Rep hockey most likely on their associations first or second team out. Players under the age group of Atom will be in the top handful of players in their home association. Playing other sports is encouraged and coaches are aware that players may miss team events for conflicts. However, we do ask that you bring to the coach’s attention the dates that you won’t be there. Jr Steelers Varsity Teams may enter additional tournaments and the expectation is that all team members will attend all tournaments.
